Solana is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she was first introduced to documentary film making. Her senior thesis was a well-received documentary entitled, "Ritual: The Union of Form and Spirit". Her passion for film documentation led her to take a job after graduation as an enrichment film specialist where she instructed at-risk high school students in the production of short film documentaries. Recently Solana has been working as a freelance consultant and documentary film maker working on projects for a bi-coastal music festival. In this position she has filmed and interviewed well-known artists and musicians for the festivals' global website. At present she is working as a creative consultant and editor for Within Reach and is looking forward to continuing her involvement on the project.
